EdTech Conference programme now live - last chance to register!

 

The conference programme for EdTech, taking place 3 & 4 June at St Patrick’s Campus, is now available. The Irish Learning Technology Association (ILTA) and local DCU conference chairs have developed a large programme which aims to provide a platform for a large number of presenters to share their work. With over 100 research and practitioner papers, eight workshops, three keynote speakers, two poster sessions and a doctoral roundtable, this conference is a must for all in higher education who teach with technology.

Registration closes next week (15th May) - don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn about cutting edge developments in technology-enhanced learning, teaching and assessment, forge new connections, and extend your network.

 

From the SDGs to Doughnut Economics: A Morning of Activities to Celebrate the Launch of DCUs Education for Sustainable Development Hub

 

On Wednesday, 26th May, the Teaching Enhancement Unit is launching a new resource that will bring together all of the available supports and resources related to ESD.

To celebrate, we will be hosting a morning of activities in The Spark (Albert College - AG49).

  • The SDGs to 2030 Game (facilitated by Dr Mark Kelly from ATU) 
  • Step into the Doughnut (facilitated by Dr Lucia Walsh from TUD)

Conversations on GenAI & Teaching– Monthly CoP in May

Thanks very much everyone who has contributed and participated in our kick-off session on Conversations on GenAI & Teaching last month! We really appreciate your contribution and your great enthusiasm for sharing in the community. Both new and existing members are welcome to our next session. This is a low-stakes Community of Practice (CoP) event, encouraging free-flowing conversations on anything - a practice, a question, a challenge, a piece of news - regarding GenAI & Teaching. No preparation beforehand and no follow-up afterward required.

Using the Grades Transfer feature from Loop to Banner

Module coordinators can now efficiently transfer student coursework totals from Loop directly to Banner using the “Transfer Grades to Banner” feature. (Note: Major summative examination (EXM) marks are handled via a separate process, with no relationship to Loop.) Before using the “Transfer Grades to Banner” feature, please consult the Loop Staff Support Page for a step-by-step walkthrough of the grades transfer process.

This year’s Teaching and Learning Week invites colleagues from across the university to share experiences and reflections on authentic assessment, with a focus on learning from one another and exploring approaches that enhance and support student learning.
