The New Illuminators: Women, Bible Journaling, and the Interpretation of Scripture

The New Illuminators: Women, Bible Journaling, and the Interpretation of Scripture is a one-day academic symposium taking place on Friday 27 March 2026, 9:30am–4:30pm, in Drumcondra House, All Hallows College, Dublin City University. Bringing together leading international scholars, the event explores Bible Journaling as a contemporary practice of scriptural engagement, with particular attention to women’s agency as interpreters and creators. Speakers include Prof. Beth Allison Barr (Baylor University), Dr Katja Rakow (Utrecht University), Dr Lieke Wijnia (Hanze University, Groningen), and DCU's own Dr Amanda Dillon and Helena Connolly of The New Illuminators project.
