Information Sessions, Workshops & Tutorials

Details pertaining to specific workshops and tutorials, as they are arranged, are e-mailed directly to registered students via their DCU student e-mail account.

Students are required to attend workshops and tutorials as part of their coursework.

Information Session - Non final Year students

Information Sessions for non final year students are held regularly throughout the Academic Year.

Information Session - Final Year students

Information Sessions are run for all students who are registered or are considering registering for the Uaneen Module.

Reflective Practice Workshop

This workshop helps students to write in a less descriptive manner and to deepen their level of reflection. 35% of the overall Uaneen mark is for Self Reflection, Motivation, Value and Ethics. 

Slides relating to the workshops are available to all registered students via Loop.  Workshops run in Semester 1 & 2.

Academic Writing to Structure your Portfolio Workshop

The Academic Writing Skills Workshop will help students produce a portfolio that is well structured, fluent, readable, accurate and coherent.  15% of the overall Uaneen mark is for Presentation, Organisation & Structure of portfolio.  This workshop takes place in Semester 2.

Reflective Practice Tutorials

Tutorials are run every two weeks in Semester 1 and expound on information offered at the Reflective Practice Workshops.  Topics for each tutorial correspond to the stage of portfolio writing students are at during the academic year.  

Tutorials are also available in Semester 2.

Peer to Peer Workshops

Workshops are run in Semester 2 and offer support from a tutor, as well as peer to peer support, to help students prepare their portfolios.
