Students have great ideas. So why should they wait until they leave university to make those ideas a reality? DCU has developed an extra-curricular programme called UStart, which was the first student accelerator of its kind in Ireland. Supported by JPMorgan Chase foundation, it offers students with entrepreneurial ideas the chance to set up their own enterprises. The programme offers unique education in entrepreneurship that moves outside the classroom and provides students with an opportunity to showcase their talents to a broader audience. Students have been supported with office space in the DCU Innovation campus, financial support and mentorship from the DCU Ryan Academy for Entrepreneurs to help them bring their business ideas to life.
