 Inside Buzz

Inside Buzz allows graduates to find out what it's really like to work for the UK's best
employers by gathering quotes from actual employees. Year-round, they survey
employees and ask them for feedback on company culture, interviews, salaries,
hours, quality of work, diversity, training, relations, relations with management and
more.... Inside Buzz differs from other career websites and publications in that their
information comes directly from those in the know (the employees!) and that they
do not package any of their quotes. They simply present the data collected from
surveys in a friendly, easy to browse format, both online and in print. Moreover,
companies do not pay for inclusion on Inside Buzz. This ensures that the
information they publish about a specific company is impartial.
The concept of employee reviews has really caught on and 50+ big name employers
(the likes of KPMG, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Deloitte, Slaughter and May,
Grant Thornton to name a few) have already sent the survey to their employees.

The Buzz Guide to the Top Law Firms is out now and is available
here

 Google Online Marketing Challenge 2011

We are pleased to announce that registration for the 2011 Google Online Marketing
Challenge is now open!

The Google Online Marketing Challenge is a global student competition open to any
higher education institution anywhere in the world. The 2010 Challenge had over
12,000 students in 60 countries competing!

"Students have first hand experience with real clients and real budgets to get real
results. Is there a better way to gain experience with the real world?"

How it works:-

Any professor at any higher education institute registers a student team.
Students can be from any class, graduate or undergraduate, regardless of discipline.

Student teams receive US$200 of free online advertising with Google AdWords and
then work with local businesses to devise effective online marketing campaigns.

Teams outline a strategy, run a campaign, assess their results and provide the
business with recommendations to further develop their online marketing. Teams
submit their reports and are judged by a panel of independent academics from all
over the world.

Advantages of the Challenge:-

This is not a simulation. Students gain real-world experience with real clients. At the
same time, clients benefit from free advertising and Internet consulting. Google
provides US$200 in AdWords advertising, along with teaching materials and other
resources.

In addition, Google provides some amazing prizes: the global winners and their
professor/lecturer will receive a trip to the Googleplex in Mountain View, California to
meet with the team that developed AdWords. In addition, regional winners will
receive a trip to their regional Google office.

To learn more and register, please visit
www.google.com/onlinechallenge
Registration closes January 22nd, 2011.

Following the recent launch of the 2010/11 edition of The Times Top 100 Graduate
Employers book, the new website has now gone live.

www.Top100GraduateEmployers.com
the site is somewhat unusual in that it
carries NO advertising or banners whatsoever and has been specially designed to
assist penultimate and final year students research the very latest information about
Britain's leading employers.

In addition to short profiles of employers' graduate recruitment in 2010-2011, the
site features a comprehensive news service with up to ten of the most-recent stories
about each organisation, sourced from the business pages of The Times
newspaper. This unique facility will enable students to quickly locate the latest news
about the employers they are interested in, something which may prove invaluable
when they are completing graduate applications or preparing for selection events.

Unlike many other graduate recruitment websites, students who register with the Top
100 site will NOT be sent endless emails promoting different graduate employers -
they will simply receive a weekly personalised e-bulletin with the latest news stories
about the employers they are interested in, details of their forthcoming careers
events and warnings of employers' impending application deadlines.
