Happy New Year!
 Dear Students,
We hope you enjoyed the Christmas break and wish you every success in 2011. As exam time approaches, we would like to share a few suggestions to keep you motivated and focused.
Stay calm and positive; analyse questions; define what you want to say in your answers; write short, clear sentences; draw on good examples; reference correctly and be confident in your competence and capability. You can do really well if you put your mind to it! Collect a copy of Student Support & Development's "Exam Tips for Students" available in the Student Advice Centre or check it out here.
Remember - employers are still recruiting. Try to keep an eye out for upcoming closing dates advertised on the following websites:-

Summer School of Slavonic Studies - Scholarship Offer |

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Czech Republic is offering two scholarships to Irish third level students to attend the 55th session of the summer school of Slavonic Studies, Faculty of Arts and Philosophy of Charles University. The course commences on the 29th of July and ends on the 26th of August 2011.
The Scholarship will cover the following expenses: registration fee, course fee, excursions, pocket money, food and lodging. The successful candidates will pay their travel expenses to and from Prague. Health insurance is not covered by the scholarship.
Applicants are required to submit:-

3. Copy of Leaving Certificate
4. Reference
5. Statement of Intent / Letter of Motivation

DCU Language Services (DCULS) Scholarship |

DCU Language Services (DCULS) in conjunction with the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies (SALIS) is offering a full-time PhD scholarship of €20,000 (including fees) tenable for one year with the option of extension to a maximum of three years to commence as early as possible in 2011.
This research is being sponsored by DCULS and the field of study will be closely aligned with the company’s activities. Proposals are therefore invited by suitably qualified applicants in the area of Language Teaching and Learning Technologies. Possible projects could include technology in the classroom, the use of virtual learning environments (VLEs) and blended learning, but are not restricted to these areas. Action research proposals which can offer practical applications of direct ongoing benefit to the language teaching interests of DCU Language Services will be
especially welcome.
Applicants should Applicants should have language teaching experience and a particular interest/ expertise in the use of technology in language teaching. Ideally candidates should have a Masters qualification or at least have conducted some research in this field.

Looking for an exciting paid Internship in Berlin, Germany? |

Position:
10-month internship as an English Language Instructor, teaching English to children between the ages of 3 and 10 years old in kindergartens and primary schools throughout Berlin from the 15th of August 2011 until the 19th of June 2012.
Job Requirements:
A teaching qualification is not a requirement; however, prior experience and previous work with young children is advantageous. A proficient level of German is also necessary.
