Master class with Professor Marius Romme

The School of Nursing and Human Sciences in DCU and the Nursing & Midwifery Planning & Development, HSE Swords will host a master class with Professor Marius Romme on Thursday 16th April.

The master class, entitled ‘Focus on the symptoms instead of on the illness and solve the schizophrenia problem’ will take place in the School of Nursing and Human Science in DCU from 10am – 12pm.

Professor Marius Romme is a Dutch psychiatrist best known for his work on hearing voices and he is regarded as the founder and principal theorist for the Hearing Voices Movement. Based on his research into the voice hearing experience, he has contributed to the development of a richer understanding of the phenomenon that gets called ‘schizophrenia’ and the ways in which people live with the experience. He is the author of Accepting Voices (1993), Making Sense of Voices (2000), Living with Voices (2009) and Psychosis as a Personal Crisis.
