Nobel Laureate, Thomas Südhof, to speak at DCU

Thomas C. Südhof M.D, Nobel Prize Winner in Physiology/ Medicine 2013

Professor Thomas Südhof, a neuroscientist at Stanford University School of Medicine and Nobel Prize Winner in Physiology/ Medicine 2013, will visit DCU on Tuesday 1st September to deliver the latest in DCU’s Nobel Laureate Series in association with Magnet Networks.

Professor Südhof will speak about his life’s work to date exploring how neurons in the brain communicate with one another across gaps called synapses. This work resulted in the Nobel Prize award and has important implications for our understanding of conditions such as schizophrenia and autism.
