The Irish Marie Curie Office (IMCO) is the National Contact Point for the European Commission's Human Resources & Mobility Programme in Ireland. The office provides advice and support to researchers, research-active organisations and companies in submitting proposels and in managing their Marie Curie Programmes.

The Human Resources and Mobility (Marie Curie) Programme, has the overall objective of providing broad support for the career-development of researchers, with the view to the successful creation of the European Research Area.

The programme consists of a set of actions, largely based on the financing of structured mobility schemes for researchers, taking into account the international dimension of science. These are essentially geared the development and transfer of research competencies, the consolidation and widening of researchers´ career prospects and the promotion of excellence in European research.
