The Student Assistance Fund ​(SAF) is operated by Student Support & Development ​providing financial support to students who are experiencing short or long-term financial difficulties while attending higher education.  The SAF is co-funded by the Irish Government and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF Programme for Employability, Inclusion and Learning 2014-2020.

The fund is open to full-time and part-time students aimed at tackling educational disadvantage by providing financial support to those who may require additional financial support to enable them to fully benefit from their higher education. Students will be required to produce financial information to support their application for assistance. The Student Assistance fund cannot be used for exam or University fees purposes.

Once an application is assessed and it is successful, an email will be sent detailing the award and requesting the students to enter bank account details in 'Loop' - Please see guide link for bank account instructions
