The International Student Emergency Fund is closed until Semester One begins in September 2026.

Non-EU students who have had a significant change in their life circumstances within the last three months which has left them in financial crisis can apply for the fund. Sudden illness or homelessness are some of the situations where students may be eligible for the fund. Funding is limited and only once-off support can be provided.

Criteria

This fund is for once-off emergencies, not on-going financial support.
Students must be registered with the University for at least 10 months before being eligible to apply for the fund.
Students must provide official evidence of their change in circumstance.
Fees must be paid in full. Re-sit Fees cannot be covered by this fund.
Students can only apply once in an academic year.
By uploading incorrect or inaccurate documentation, your application will be rejected.

Examples of potentially successful applications

Recent diagnosis of a serious illness or condition and require assistance to return home for treatment
Student was the victim of a crime
Student recently homeless due to changes in rental accommodation
Student suddenly lost employment and is actively seeking new employment

In each of these cases, the student needs to be able to demonstrate the impact on their financial planning for the year.
