Researcher Development Programme

The Researcher Development Programme, developed in consultation with researchers, aims to support the career and
professional development of researchers as they undertake the Research Career Framework. This programme provides
skills-based training opportunities that encourage both the personal and professional growth of researchers.

Learning and development opportunities are provided at the three levels of the Research Career Framework
under these headings:

  • Orientation
  • Career Development
  • Leadership and Management
  • Publications, Funding and Intellectual Property
  • Finance and Budgeting
  • Project Management
  • Teaching and Learning

The training supports researchers to develop their skills as outlined in the Competency Framework.

It is recommended that researchers attend a minimum of 4 days training per annum.

Further information for new research staff is available here.
