International Partnership of Business Schools (IPBS) celebrates 30th Anniversary
9th November 2009
The International Partnership of Business Schools (IPBS), of which DCU Business School is an active member, is this month celebrating its 30th anniversary. Established in 1979, the IPBS is a consortium of top business schools located in Ireland, USA, United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, and Mexico. IPBS member institutions converged on the European School of Business (ESB) Reutlingen, Germany for anniversary celebrations on Friday, 6th November. Students, alumni, staff, corporate associates and other key stakeholders in IPBS's dual degree programmes took part in the celebrations. The occasion of the 30th anniversary of the foundation of IPBS provided the opportunity for member institutions to reflect the IPBS's many successes to date, and to plot future strategies that will further strengthen the Partnership. Speaking at the celebrations, Prof. Bernard Pierce, IPBS President and Dean of DCU Business School, highlighted that IPBS has established itself as a unique and cohesive network that has already achieved an impressive track record in international business education: "At the heart of IPBS success lies exceptional levels of team spirit, mutual trust and respect that transcend international boundaries." "The flagship programmes of IPBS at Bachelor and Master levels demonstrate very clearly the benefits of a truly international business education." "Graduates are not only well educated in international business - they think international. These programmes, and their growing body of distinguished alumni, provide evidence of very significant achievements in its relatively short history."
