Dr Mark de Rond of University of
Cambridge to speak at DCUBS

Dr Mark de Rond will deliver a Learning Innovation and Knowledge (LInK)
research centre seminar on 'Very Near to a Kind of Unconsciousness:
Into the Dark Night of the Ethnographer's Soul' at 11am on Tuesday
16th February in Q119, DCU Business School.
Mark is a Reader in Strategy and Organisation at the Judge Business
School, University of Cambridge. His most recent book, based on a
study of the Cambridge boat-race team was called "The Last Amateurs:
to hell and back with the Cambridge Boat Race crew". This was listed
as one of the 12 Best Business Books of 2008 by
The Financial Times, appeared on JP
Morgan's 10th annual summer reading list (top 10 of 500), and
included in a review of 10 of the Best Sporting Reads of 2008 by BBC
Sport.
Dr de Rond's previous book on strategic alliances won the Academy of
Management's George Terry award for the book judged to have made the
most outstanding contribution to the advancement of management
