North Carolina State University joins elite International Partnership of Business Schools (IPBS)

The International Partnership of Business Schools (IPBS) has welcomed its 9th partner institution, North Carolina State University (NCSU) in Raleigh, North Carolina in the U.S.A.

Established in 1979, the IPBS is a consortium of top business schools located in Dublin (Ireland), Boston (USA), Lancaster (United Kingdom), Madrid (Spain), Reims (France), Reutlingen (Germany), Piacenza (Italy), and Puebla (Mexico) a
nd its newcomer, Raleigh, North Carolina (U.S.A.).

DCU Business School (DCUBS) plays a leading role in the partnership. In April 2009 Prof. Bernard Pierce, Dean of DCUBS, was elected President of the International Partnership of Business Schools.

On Friday, November 6th, 2009, NCSU was recognised officially as the newest partner in the IPBS network through an official document signing ceremony which took place at the European School of Business, Reutlingen, Germany. The partner agreement was signed by IPBS President, Prof. Bernard Pierce, Dean of DCU Business School; and by Prof. K. Shannon Davis, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs at North Carolina State University (NCSU).

North Carolina State University was founded in 1887 and it is the largest 4-year institution in North Carolina. More than 33,000 Students from the U.S.A. and from 107 foreign countries are enrolled there. The College of Management was established in 1992 and like its new partners in the IPBS network; it has been continuously earning high academic rankings.


The IPBS is dedicated to the development of a lifelong cross-cultural international community of business and management students, alumni, professors, researchers and staff, by sharing and increasing their professional knowledge, skills and understanding through international exchange programmes.

IPBS member schools co-operate in a programme of research and teaching activities and the network currently has almost 2,000 students registered on dual degree and joint degree programmes.
