DCU Business School
Postgraduate Practicum Day
Friday, 27th August 2010 | DCU Business School, Dublin 9
About the 'Practicum'
Throughout DCU's MBS in
Marketing and
MSc in Business Management programmes, students are given the
opportunity to apply their knowledge to real-world projects. As well
as undertaking industry-relevant projects for individual modules,
students have the opportunity of working together in a group to
complete a major practical project in lieu of an individual
dissertation - a 'practicum'.
Projects are sourced from DCU's research centres, corporate clients,
or may be based on students' own insights and ideas. They entail
working to solve a real-world problem or to exploit a real-world
opportunity. This may involve identifying the commercial
opportunity, researching the market, or developing a marketing
campaign.
See the Practicum Presentations for Yourself
As part of DCU Business School's commitment to engagement with the
wider community, we welcome guests to attend our practicum
presentations on 27 August 2010. Guests will also have the
opportunity to ask questions after each presentation or during the
lunchtime practicum poster session on the ground floor of the
business school.
The presentations are grouped in to four main themes:
* Original business plans - business ideas that students have
identified, research and prepared business plans for.
* Irish e-Business Marketing - marketing projects for Irish
e-businesses
* International Marketing - marketing projects for Irish businesses
typically involving an international aspect
* Local Businesses and Projects - marketing practicums for
organisations located on the Northside of Dublin
The full schedule is below and attendance provides guests with the
opportunity to explore ways in which they might connect and
collaborate with DCU Business School, our faculty and students.
