New Bank of Ireland concept branch at DCU

Minister for Education, Ruairi Quinn, has formally opened a new Bank of Ireland concept branch in Dublin City University. The new branch incorporates an open-front design and features a digital wall with five zones, allowing customers to interact with the full range of Bank of Ireland services. Located at the heart of the DCU campus in the Henry Grattan Building, the new concept branch will serve 15,000 students and staff as well as an additional 250,000 visitors to the Helix each year.

Speaking at the opening, Richie Boucher, Group Chief Executive, Bank of Ireland, said,

“Our investment in DCU, which is one of the Top 50 youngest Universities in the world, reaffirms our focus on developing lifelong relationships with customers at important times in their lives and we are very excited about the opportunity to offer financial support and advice to students and staff in DCU over the coming years. We have a very strong team in place, led by DCU branch manager Bernadette Linnane and this new modern branch is ideally located at the heart of the campus where it will serve staff, students, campus companies and visitors.”

Professor Brian MacCraith, President of DCU, commented,

“We are very pleased that Bank of Ireland has chosen DCU as the location for its cutting-edge, concept branch.  Its design is in keeping with DCU's culture of innovation and it will be an important resource for our students and staff.”
