DCU students and grads in All Ireland Club Finals

Well done to all nineteen DCU students and graduates who took part in the 2014 AIB All-Ireland Senior Club Football and Hurling Finals on St Patrick’s Day in Croke Park.

Seventeen were involved in the clash between St Vincent’s and Castlebar Mitchels.  Lining out for the Dublin team were current students Gavin Burke, Shane Carty, Jarlath Curly, Cameron Diamond, Cormack Diamond, Turlough Diamond, Jamie Gill and Daithi Murphy alongside graduates, Luke Bree, Michael Concarr, Tiarnan Diamond, Brendan Egan, Hugh Gill, Mossy Quinn, Michael Savage.  On the Mayo side were two current students, Danny Kirby and James Durcan.

The match ended in victory for St Vincent’s, the final scoreline St Vincent’s 4-12 Castlebar Mitchels 2 11On the sidelines for St Vincent’s was Tommy Conroy as manager and Michael Clarke who are both involved with the management of DCU’s Sigerson B team.

Earlier that day, Eddie Byrne (DCU student) and Seamus Kelly (graduate) also fought a valiant battle for Mount Leinster Rangers against Portumna in the Hurling Final.
