DCU student sets new Irish 1500m record at Rio Paralympics

Greta Streimikyte, an International Relations student DCU, was placed fourth in her first ever Paralympics final in Rio, setting a new Irish national record.

Greta, who was born in Lithuania, has been living in Ireland for the last five years.

In June, 21-year old Greta made her debut for the Irish Para-Athletics team during the IPC Athletics European Championships in Italy. She competed in the T13 1,500m final finishing third.
