Major Incident Training Exercise at DCU

DCU welcomes the opportunity to work with the National Emergency Services to facilitate a Major Incident Training Exercise on the DCU Glasnevin Campus taking place this evening, (Nov 16th) from 6-10pm. In addition, the University is using this large-scale exercise to test its own Major Emergency Planning Framework.

This evening's event also provides an opportunity to work with graduates of DCU's MSc in Emergency Management who are playing a key role in proceedings with their colleagues in the National Emergency Services.

In 2007, DCU launched a Masters in Emergency Management, the first programme of its kind in Ireland, endorsed by the National Steering Group for Major Emergency Management, the Emergency Planning Society (Republic of Ireland Branch) and Pharmachemical Ireland as being suitable for improving the emergency management skills of individuals in both the public and private sectors, which has seen a large number of emergency service personnel graduate from the University and maintain strong links with the University in the intervening period.
