Whisper and Beyond art exhibition now running at DCU Glasnevin

'Whisper and Beyond' is an art exhibition currently running in the DCU School of Nursing and Human Sciences.

The exhibition features the work of acclaimed artist Sinead Dinneen and relates to her personal perceptions and experience of living with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer and the artistic responses from BSc Nursing students, created during a collaborative art-making project.

At the recent launch, the artist spoke about how her art helps her to express her emotions and perceptions concerning her cancer experience and the importance of dialogue with healthcare staff concerning the lived experience of cancer.

In the exhibition, through their artwork and comments, student nurses convey the positive effects of this arts and health engagement which deepened their knowledge and sensitivity to the needs of people experiencing cancer and terminal illness.

The exhibition is open to all and will run until Friday 14th December.
