An examination of the role of Social Dominance Orientation in online bullying behaviour

An examination of the role of Social Dominance Orientation in online bullying behaviour

Project Goals

  • To examine the relationship between Social Dominance Orientation (SDO) and Bullying among young people.
  • To examine the mediating role of empathy and moral disengagement in the relationship between SDO and cyber bullying.
  • To examine the relationship between online engagement and trusted sources of information for societal issues and SDO.
  • We aim to do this through a systematic review of the existing literature on SDO and bullying and through an online survey with young people asking them to report on their experiences of cyber-bullying and looking at the relationships between this and SDO, empathy, moral disengagement and online news engagement.
