Academic biography

Dr. Colette Real is an Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship at Dublin City University Business School.

An organisational psychologist, her research examines how trust can be a source of value for organisations by contributing to effective workplace relationships. She is a member of the DCU Research Institute for Business and Society, specifically the Trustlab programme which considers the application of trust within organisations and to digital transformation and change. She is also a member of FINT, an international network of trust scholars (https://fintweb.org/). She is currently a committee member of the Division of Work and Organisational Psychology (DWOP) of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).

She lectures in organisational psychology in the contexts of entrepreneurship and innovation, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Prior to her academic career, Colette held senior management roles on a wide variety of organisational development and change programmes in the financial services industry in Ireland.

Research interests

My research examines how trust can be a source of value for organisations by contributing to effective workplace relationships. My PhD research examined trust reciprocity between top management team members in Irish small businesses. I am interested in the application of trust to all human interactions within organisations and to digital transformation and change.
