Academic biography
Dr Vincent Tawiah is an Associate Professor in Accounting at Dublin City University Business School. He holds a PhD in Accounting from Griffith University, Australia, and his research expertise spans financial reporting, corporate governance, and climate change–related reporting, with particular attention to emerging economies, especially Africa. He is recognised as a Top 2% Scientist worldwide, reflecting the global impact and visibility of his scholarship.
Dr Tawiah has published over 60 peer-reviewed articles in leading international journals, including the Journal of Business, Finance & Accounting; Journal of Accounting Literature, International Journal of Accounting, Accounting Forum, Journal of Business Research, and Energy Economics. He has successfully secured over €200,000 in competitive research funding from Horizon Europe and Research Ireland, and has supervised PhD candidates to successful completion.
He teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in international financial reporting and financial accounting, and has contributed extensively to school and university committees including program chair, supporting academic governance and programme development.
