Workshop on ‘Teaching about Asylum and Migration’

Workshop on ‘Teaching about Asylum and Migration’

On Thursday 10th July 2025, the DCU Conflict Institute hosted an online workshop on ‘Teaching about Asylum and Migration’ in the framework of the EUMIGSEC Jean Monnet Chair on Migration, Security and Intelligence in the European Union.

Participants reflected on the challenges raised by teaching on asylum and migration against the backdrop of rising anti-immigration feelings in various parts of the world. They discussed how to overcome challenges and reflected on experimenting with innovative practices. The discussions were enriched by the inclusion of various disciplinary and cultural perspectives.

This workshop was part of the activities of the EUMIGSEC Jean Monnet Chair at Dublin City University, which is co-funded by the European Union.
