The Possibility Seminars return with four thought-provoking sessions to close out the academic year. Co-hosted by the Possibility Studies Network and the DCU Centre for Possibility Studies, these highly interactive seminars bring together leading thinkers to explore the frontiers of human potential, creativity, and more-than-human futures.
Designed as a collaborative environment, these sessions are an opportunity to engage directly with groundbreaking research in progress, offer feedback, and help shape the evolving landscape of possibility studies. Whether you're a scholar, practitioner, or explorer of the possible, these seminars invite you to participate in conversations that matter.

Nicolas B. Verger – The Meritocracy of Preservation; 30th May, 10-11.30am GMT.
Dr. Nicolas B. Verger holds a PhD from Glasgow Caledonian University on cross-cultural effects of parent-child creative activities on resilience. Currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Possibility Studies Centre at Dublin City University, his work focuses on creativity, ethics of care, and ecological wellbeing. He is building an international transdisciplinary research network exploring themes of possibility thinking, creativity, and ecological preservation. His latest work, Creative Preservation: A Framework of Creativity in Support of…, offers a compelling new lens on sustainability and meritocracy.

Zorana Ivcevic Pringle – The Creativity Choice, 9th May, 3-4.30pm GMT.
Dr. Zorana Ivcevic Pringle is a Senior Research Scientist at Yale University’s Center for Emotional Intelligence. A regular contributor to Psychology Today and Creativity Post, she is co-editor of The Cambridge Handbook of Creativity and Emotions and Crises, Creativity, and Innovation. Zorana brings both academic depth and practical insight into the psychology of creative choice. She lives in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Deborah Lupton – More-Than-Human Futures Thinking; 16th May, 10-11.30am GMT.
Professor Deborah Lupton is SHARP Professor at UNSW Sydney, affiliated with the Centre for Social Research in Health and the Social Policy Research Centre. She leads the Vitalities Lab, and serves as Node Leader, Health Focus Area Leader, and People Co-Leader in the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society. Her work pushes the boundaries of futures thinking by integrating human and more-than-human perspectives.
Carl Nordgren – Why I Won’t Define Creativity; 23rd May, 3-4.30pm GMT.
Carl Nordgren is an entrepreneur, creativity consultant, former Duke University professor, teenage fishing guide, and award-winning novelist. He hosts the weekly WCHL radio show Exploring Your Creative Genius. Carl’s mission is to help individuals and communities grow their creative capacity and entrepreneurial instinct — essential tools for thriving in a future full of unknowable unknowns.
