Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning: Dr Caroline McMullan

Caroline was educated at the University of Ulster and the University of Strathclyde, where she completed her PhD in Crisis Management. She was a Lecturer in the faculty of Business and Management at the University of Ulster for twelve years. During this time Caroline’s teaching and research covered a broad spectrum of subjects including her key interests Crisis Management, Hospitality Management, Human Resource Management and Decision Making. Her Ph.D. thesis explored how Small to Medium Enterprises could implement effective Crisis Management.

Before taking up her post at DCU Caroline worked as Director of the Cross Border Crisis Management Project. This project involved designing and delivering Emergency Management training programmes for staff at eleven acute hospitals. She also worked as a Consultant in Emergency and Business Continuity Management; working with both Public and Private sector organizations.

Caroline is currently Chairperson of the Emergency Planning Society (Ireland).
