Biography:

Liam Gallagher is Professor of Finance in the Business School. He was appointed to this position in 2002. He has held posts in University College Cork, Oxford University and University of St.Thomas, Minnesota. Liam was Head of the Economics and Finance Group within DCU Business School, 2003-7. He was also the Founder and Director of the M.Sc. in Finance and Capital Markets and the B.Sc. in Quantitative Finance and for the period 2002-7 was Director of the M.Sc. in Investment and Treasury.

His research centres on the use of applied econometrics in modelling the behaviour of financial markets. He is co-editor (with Mark P. Taylor) of Speculation and Financial Markets (Edward Elgar: MA), 2002. He has published widely in international peer-reviewed journals.

Liam is a member of the Edgeworth Centre for Financial Mathematics and the Centre for Investment Research. Both successful in achieving funding awards from SFI and IRCHSS, respectively.
