Emerald Literati Network - 2013 Awards for Excellence: Dr Pierre McDonagh

DCU Business School wish to congratulate Dr Pierre McDonagh on his recent outstanding achievement. Dr McDonagh’s paper “Dark Marketing: Ghost in the machine or skeleton in the cupboard?” recently published in the Emerald European Business Review has been chosen as an Outstanding Paper Award Winner at the Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2013.

The award winning papers are chosen following consultation amongst the journal’s Editorial Team, many of whom are eminent academics or practitioners. Dr McDonagh’s paper has been selected as it was one of the most impressive pieces of work the team has seen throughout 2012.

The paper focuses on Dark Marketing and examines the nature, character and extent of dark marketing, noting that it is made manifest in manifold shapes and forms and co-authored with Stephen Brown, (Department of Marketing, Strategy and Entrepreneurship, University of Ulster, Jordanstown, UK), and Clifford Shultz, (Graduate School of Business Administration, Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois, USA).
