DCU Sport member, Caroline Loscher Hosts Spinathon for Pieta: Cycle the Wild Atlantic Way for Mental Health!

DCU Sport is thrilled to announce a high-energy Spinathon event, hosted by DCU staff member Caroline Loscher, aimed at supporting Pieta's vital mental health services.

DCU staff and students and the public are invited to join this exciting challenge, which will see participants collectively cycle a monumental 2600km – the equivalent of the entire Wild Atlantic Way – in just four hours!

Organised dedicated DCU staff member, Caroline Loscher, this Spinathon is more than just a physical challenge; it's a powerful initiative to promote mental well-being within the DCU community. The event highlights the undeniable link between physical activity and mental health, emphasizing how exercise can be a significant stress reliever, releasing mood-boosting endorphins and enhancing mental clarity.

Participants are encouraged to gather their friends, colleagues, or classmates and form teams for a fun and exhilarating day. The Spinathon promises a vibrant atmosphere, fostering not only physical fitness but also a supportive culture around mental health across the university.

"We are incredibly excited to bring the DCU community together for such a crucial cause," says Caroline. "Mental health is a priority, and this Spinathon offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to Pieta's life-saving work while enjoying a high-energy workout. It's about showing support, raising awareness, and having fun in the process."

Bikes are reportedly filling up fast, so early registration is highly recommended to secure a spot for your team. Don't miss this chance to challenge yourself, connect with our community, and make a tangible difference in supporting mental health services.
