Which Brexit after the UK Elections?

The DCU Brexit Research and Policy Institute will bring together Europe’s leading experts and policy-makers for a one-day workshop to examine the implications of the recent UK parliamentary elections on Brexit’s prospects and assess the advancement of the negotiations between the EU and the UK.

The event will feature participation of leading academics, including Kenneth Armstrong, Professor of EU Law at the University of Cambridge, Iain Begg, Professor of Political Economy at the London School of Economics, and Emily Jones, Professor of Government at the University of Oxford, as well and leading policy-makers, including Thomas Beukers (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands), Ana Gouveia (Ministry of Economic Affairs of Portugal), Rory Montgomery (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ireland) and Kristien Michoel (Legal Service of the Council of the EU).

The event will be opened by a keynote speech by Helen McEntee, Minister of State for European Affairs, who is also an alumna of DCU. This opening speech will be followed by a keynote speech by Baroness Armstrong of Hill Top, member of the U.K. House of Lords’ Select Committee on the EU. The event will be closed by a keynote speech by Sandro Gozi, Minister of State for European Affairs of Italy.
