This free zoom webinar hosted by Engaging Dementia explores the challenges that people with dementia and carers are currently facing, and offers insights into the realities of living in the “new normal”, together with practical advice and guidance for resilience building. The speakers will consider what people with dementia, carers and the broader care community can do to support each other and themselves at present and into the future. It will include consideration of the role of policymakers, statutory service providers, health and social care professionals, and community and voluntary organisations going forward.

The speakers include:

  • Prof Steven Sabat, Professor Emeritus of Psychology, Georgetown University
  • Person living with dementia – Member of the Irish Dementia Working Group
  • Prof Kate Irving, School of Nursing, Psychotherapy and Community Health, Dublin City University 
  • Mary McGrath, Advanced Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist, Memory Clinic, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust 
  • Nisha Joy, Person in Charge, Carebright, Bruff, Co Limerick
