FETRC secure Erasmus Plus project funding for ICARO

Trudy Corrigan from FETRC has successfully secured an Erasmus Plus project as a partner of the ICARO Project: Innovative Curriculum for Adult Learners in Soft Skills.

The project aims to design an accredited curriculum on soft skills for adult learners to support their joining or rejoining the workforce in the near future. This is an innovative methodology which is designed to develop a holistic approach to adult learning. The design of this curriculum incorporates a customized training path which takes into account multicultural and multigenerational issues of adult education learning. This project will bring together six countries in a joint transnational partnership which has a diverse expertise based on plurality of practices, experiences and input gathered together through working in various environments and cultures.The overall aim is to design a soft skills curriculum which will assist adult learners to gain additional knowledge and skills for work-based learning. It is anticipated that this curriculum will have added value for adults of all ages in gaining employment in a diversity of workplaces now and in the future. DCU will lead with the design and development of the soft skills curriculum. Partners: Lead Partner : The Regional Public Employment and Training Service of the Region of Murcia Spain. Other Partners: Ireland, Lithuania, Greece, Belguim and Germany. (Six partners in total). Examples of providers are as follows: The Hamburger VolkshocRschule Adult Education Centre Hamburg Germany is the largest publicly funded provider of Adult Education in Hamburg and it is the biggest provider of adult education programmes in Hamburg.
