DCU EnviroFood Innovations Industry Day Showcases DCU Life Sciences Expertise

DCU's Life Sciences Institute (LSI) hosted its EnviroFood Innovations Industry Day on June 30, 2025, bringing together key innovators from Ireland's food and environment sectors with DCU academics and researchers to identify pressing challenges, uncover collaboration synergies, and foster innovation for real-world impact.

The day featured insightful presentations on LSI's advancements in food quality, bioprocessing, and the health benefits of food components, as well as critical environmental research on climate change challenges, bioaerosol monitoring, and pollution detection.

A highlight of the day included a case study from industry collaborator Dairygold, presented by Susan Maye Quinn, Dairygold's Food Science, Technology and Product Development Lead demonstrating its successful academic-industry partnership with DCU.

Attendees also gained valuable information on collaborative research funding opportunities and participated in interactive breakout sessions focused on environmental exposures and human health, balancing food production and quality, and monitoring environmental impact.

The event concluded with a networking lunch and optional tours of LSI's state-of-the-art facilities.
