Surface Tension: The Future of Water

A DCU/DKIT project entitled "Surface Tension: The Future of Water" has been selected to exhibit to the prestigious World Science Festival in New York this summer. Dr Brian Corcoran, in co-operation with Mr Kimmit Sayers from DKIT is researching wear on hand-pump piston seals. Their work was recently featured at the Science Gallery in Dublin in an exhibition dedicated to exploring the future of water, from where it will now head to New York for the World Science Exhibition.

This project is part of the "Water is Life: Amazzi Bulami" project, which is a multi-disciplinary project with the objective of supporting sustainable water resource management in rural Uganda. The project is a partnership between Irish Higher Institutes (including DCU) and African education and NGO partners, and is funded directly though the Irish Aid/HEA Programme for strategic co-operation.
