Sophie Spence nominated for RTE Sports Person of the Year 2015
DCU Rugby Development Officer, Sophie Spence, has been shortlisted for the RTE Sports Person of the Year 2015. The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony on Saturday 19th December, broadcast live on RTE One at 9:40pm.
Sophie played a key role as Ireland claimed a second Six Nations title in 2015, was named Women’s Player of the Year at the Rugby Writers of Ireland awards and was recently nominated for World Rugby Women’s Player of the Year 2015. She will face competition on Saturday from 13 nominees including McGregor, Rory McIlroy, Leighton Aspekk, Rena Buckley, Michael Conlan, Andy Lee, Shane Lowry, Jack McCaffery, Michael McKillop, Paul O’Connell, TJ Reid, Richie Towell and Jon Walters.
