DCU representation in the 2017 All-Ireland Hurling Final

This Sunday (September 3rd)  the All-Ireland Hurling Final between Galway and Waterford will take place at Croke Park, and once again Dublin City University will play a part in the action with representatives on both panels.

Galway duo, Padraig Breheny and Brian Flaherty are both DCU graduates. Padraig plays his club hurling with Tynagh/Abbey/Duniry while Brian lines out with Abbeyknockmoy.

On the Waterford side, Patrick Curran is a 3rd year Bachelor of Education student at DCU while Peter Hogan is a final year Engineering student.

Sunday's upcoming final is the first time that Galway and Waterford will meet to contest an All-Ireland Hurling Final. Interestingly, Waterford have won all of their previous ten championship outings against the Connacht side.

The game is live on RTE and Sky Sports with a throw-in time of 3.30pm.

Meanwhile, on Saturday (September 2nd) Cork and Mayo contest this year's LGFA senior semi-final with the winners meeting Dublin  in the upcoming Ladies All-Ireland Football Final.

DCU have strong representation on both panels; (Mayo) Aisling Tarpey, Sarah Rowe, Fiona McHale, Grace Kelly, Niamh Kelly and (Cork) Brid O'Sullivan.

Throw-in is at 4.45pm and live on TG4.
