DCU graduate Jamie Heaslip selected for Lions first test team

Jamie Heaslip

Jamie Heaslip, a graduate of DCU’s Medical Mechanical Engineering degree, has just been selected to play in the first test team for the British/Irish Lions which faces South Africa. This is his first time to be selected and it is an enormous privilege for him as a player. He will remember it as the pinnacle of his career.

According to Jack Hanratty, the Rugby Development Officer, “Jamie has had an excellent year, after winning the 6 Nations with Ireland and then going on to win the Heineken Cup with Leinster.

“To have someone who used to play in the DCU colours now playing in the red for the Lions is a great honour for the university and for all those who ever played with him on the team”.
