Dr Gary Murphy appointed new Director of Graduate Research
Thursday 8 March 2007

Dr Gary Murphy, School of Law and Government, has been appointed to the new post of Director of Graduate Research.
The Director of Graduate Research will be central in shaping and building DCU's support infrastructure for postgraduate and young researcher training. This will include the establishment of an overall framework for a DCU Graduate School within which Advanced Postgraduate Training programmes, such as those funded by IRCSET and IRCHSS will operate.
The appointment is timely in view of national developments in postgraduate training. Gary will formally take up his appointment in April.
Gary will work closely with OVPR, OVPLI, the Associate Deans of Research, Heads of Schools, Centres and Faculties to ensure the most effective model of graduate school and researcher development emerges for DCU, its students and staff.
Gary Murphy was recently awarded the President's Research Award for the Humanities and Social Sciences.
