Una Redmond wins the ACUI Volunteer Award
Monday 5 December

In October 2005, Una Redmond, Student Finance Committee Administrative Officer, DCU, received an award from the Association of College Unions International (ACUI). Una received the ACUI Region 1 Significant Volunteer Award at this year's regional conference in Amherst, Massachusetts.
The significant volunteer award is presented to an individual who volunteers throughout the year and often does a lot of the behind the scenes work. Una was honored with this award because of her long time support of ACUI.
Kim Schwarz, Region 1 Volunteer Coordinator said that Una’s participation is an inspiration for those seeking to get involved in the exchange of ideas and philosophies for student union staff and students alike.
The ACUI brings together college union and student activities professionals from hundreds of schools and universities worldwide. Students and staff learn about the role of the college union on campus and share in fulfilling that role through regional committees, conferences, and newsletters. ACUI is particularly focused on student development and places an emphasis on the learning derived through student activities.
In addition to her work with ACUI, Una has also been secretary of ASUA (Association of Student Union Administrators) for almost 15 years and have taken an active role in this voluntary organization, including maintaining close links with ACUI and other similar organizations in the UK.
