Brian Ormond to present All-Ireland Dance Experiment

12 February 2010

All-Ireland Dance Experiment

The All-Ireland Dance Experiment will showcase a combination of dance styles to produce imaginative, exhilarating fusions of eclectic dance routines. Entries from colleges, dance institutions and dance schools nationwide will descend upon The Helix on February 18th 2010 to display their talent, creativity, originality and youthfulness, as they fuse dance genres like never before.

Using science and experimentation as inspiration behind the show's theme, routines will be undoubtedly whacky and wonderful and amazingly colourful, taking the art and science of dance to a whole new level. The dance creations will 'experiment' with different styles of dance from contemporary to hip-hop and from ballet to tango, combining them to produce imaginative explosions of dance that Ireland has never witnessed before.

Emer Fitzgerald, the producer of the event and Chair of DCU Dance said, “It is not a competition but more a creative opportunity to celebrate the different styles of dance. We have a flourishing dance community here in DCU and we would like to become Ireland’s Dance Hub of the future”.

The first ever show of its kind, The All-Ireland Dance Experiment, will be produced and hosted by DCU Dance Society. It is undoubtedly a great opportunity for Dance Societies of Ireland to collaborate and produce original, youthful and creative performances that the Irish Dance Scene has ever seen.

Come along for an exciting night of pure original entertainment that will surely have you on the edge of your seat!!
