DCU athletes excel in Belgium

Twenty-four Athletes from DCU travelled to Watchebeke in Belgium recently to compete in the Lotto Cross Cup.

The athletes competed in a variety of races over the weekend. Competitors hailed from Britain, France, Belgium, Holland, Kenya, Ethiopia and Morocco.

DCU’s Fionnuala Britton displayed an excellent performance in the Senior Ladies 6.15km race by coming in first place and beating second place Belgium International Veerle Dejaeghere by 33 seconds.

Cathal Dennehy and Eoin McCormack came in first and third respectively in the Junior Mens 6.75km.
