Student Grants - Apply Now!
Urgent message to all students who have applied for a DCU undergraduate honours degree course

The application process is now open for the Student Grant Scheme for 2011-2012.
In recent years there have been long delays in processing applications, which result in delays for you in receiving your grant. Do not wait until after you have received a CAO offer! It is very important that you apply now and submit a complete application and supporting documentation.
Another reason for significant delays is that students don't properly complete forms or send in the correct supporting documentation. Please make sure that you complete your application form accurately.
Up until now, there were four grant schemes. In the first major step to overhaul the student grant system, the four schemes have been replaced by a single unified scheme this year. This will make it far easier for students to apply for a grant.
Students should visit http://www.studentfinance.ie for information about student grants and to complete or download a Student Grant Application Form. Guidance notes on completing the application form are also provided for download.
Here is the link to completing an application form:

This year, 35 grant-awarding authorities are providing students with an online student grant application facility.
Access to the online application form together with a full list of the grant awarding authorities accepting online applications is also available on: http://studentfinance.ie
After you have received your CAO offer and made your final course acceptance, you need to complete an FA1 Course Acceptance Form, http://www.studentfinance.ie/mp9527/course-acceptance-forms/index.html, and return it to the local authority/VEC office where you submitted your student grant application.
If you have any queries in relation to your grant application, you should contact the grants section of your local authority or VEC.
