DCU hosted Dragon's Den event with Bobby Kerr

Bobby Kerr, CEO of Insomnia and of the RTE series, Dragon's Den, was one of a panel of judges for the Jennifer Burke Award for Innovation in Teaching and Learning on Monday 11 May 2009. In this brand new competition to decide the best teaching ideas seven candidates were short-listed and had the opportunity to 'sell' their innovation to the panel of judges.

The award, which is named after Jennifer Burke, recognises and rewards innovative practice in teaching and learning in Ireland. Jennifer was a well known and highly regarded colleague of DCU. The award is funded jointly by DCU and the Irish Learning Technology Association (ILTA).

The judging panel comprised Eugene O'Loughlin, National College of Ireland (NCIRL)/Irish Learning Technology Association (ILTA), Kate Guy, The Regional Support Centre of Northern Ireland (RSCni) and Adam McAuley (DCU)

The winner will be presented with a piece of specially commissioned artwork created by Majella O'Neill Collins at the Irish Educational Technology Users' Conference in the National College of Ireland on May 22nd 2009.
