DCU Graduate profiled in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) Report

A DCU graduate of Fiontar, Aoife O’Driscoll has been profiled in the recent Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) report sponsored by Enterprise Ireland. The GEM report, part of a global assessment of entrepreneurial activity, chose Aoife due to her outstanding success with her company, ElevEase.

ElevEase manufactures ‘The Shower Step’, a device which makes leg shaving, leg and foot washing, exfoliating and applying tanning lotion easier and safer. Aoife’s business partner Dave Brennan, a sucessful entrepreneur met when Aoife was conducting interviews as part of her studies at DCU. Impressed with Aoife’s simple and innovative idea he joined forces with her and have gained huge success.

Aoife was attracted to study Fiontar at DCU because it offered her a “diverse business, finance, computing and entrepreneurship course”. The various work placements through college that DCU offered furthered her determination to become an entrepreneur.

Aoife has now realised her dream of becoming her own boss and plans to expand her empire with an new company, Concepts Plus, which encourages inventors to develop ideas and bring them to the marketplace.
