Thursday 21 April 2005
DCU, which was voted the Sunday Times University of the Year, has done it again in the Enterprise Ireland Proof of Concept Phase Spring 2005. DCU beat competition from other Irish universities to take first place in this round of research funding granted by Enterprise Ireland. DCU received over €500,000 in funding. This funding will be used across the university fields of Physics and Electronics, Information Technology, Chemistry and Engineering and Life Sciences.
In the Sunday Times statistics, with regard to the University of the Year poll, it was recorded that DCU attracts the highest research per academic staff. DCU's six national research centres are internationally recognized. Twelve smaller DCU research centres generate €33m a year in revenue and university graduates can be found in key position in technology companies in Ireland.
