Irish translation company, Cipherion Translations offers “Best Thesis” prize to translation students in DCU’s School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies (SALIS).

Cipherion Translations, an Irish company specialising in translating software, websites and marketing materials into as many as 40 languages, is offering a prize of €750 to the best final year B.A. or M.A. thesis on a topic related to the translation industry. Every year, several students of translation studies undertake research on topics related to the business of translation or translation technology.

DCU’s School of Computing has reported an upsurge in the number of companies looking for computer graduates. Despite an overall rise in unemployment, Computing and IT jobs have continued to grow. DCU achieved great success when the Centre for Academic Achievement.

DCU achieved great success when the Centre for Academic Achievement (CAA) programme won a Taoiseach Public Service Excellence award at Dublin Castle. From a total of 250 entries across the public service, some 20 projects were selected to win awards presented by the Taoiseach in Dublin Castle on July 8. This is the first time DCU has won such an award.

DCU gets green light for new Nano-Bioanalytical Research Facility

DCU has been awarded €23.8m in Cycle V PRTLI, following an announcement earlier today by An Taoiseach, Brian Cowen.  All three DCU-led projects were successful in their bid for funding, with a further two, in which DCU are partners, also successful.

President’s Award for Civic Engagement
