Britton wins Silver medal in European Cross Country Championships

Fionnuala Britton

DCU student Fionnuala Britton won a silver medal in the U-23 race at the European Cross- Country Championship in Italy last weekend.

Fionnuala displayed an excellent performance throughout the race and took the runner- up spot behind Turkey’s Binnaz Uslu. She is only the third Irish athlete to take an individual medal at European level.

Fionnuala is a final year sports science students and is a member of the DCU Sports Academy.
