DCU Research Showcased at EI Commercialisation Event

The cutting edge of DCU research was showcased to over 200 companies with an interest in commercialising technology developed by leading Irish universities last week. The event focussed solely on ICT (Information and Communications Technology) research, with the aim of bringing together researchers and companies working in this area.
DCU had a broad range of technologies on show, which included emerging multimedia technologies, image processing and analysis, scientific computing and complex system analysis, machine translation and localization, network and communications engineering, and information systems. The format consisted of a number of short overview presentations, poster sessions and a demonstration area to display technologies.
‘The event was a huge success with a number of companies and investors expressing interest in commercialising the DCU technologies on show’, stated Paddy O’Boyle, Invent DCU, who coordinated DCU’s involvement in the event.
This ICT Showcase is an annual event run by Enterprise Ireland and was held in the SAS Radisson in Dublin’s city centre on 6th October 2008.
