Dr Peadar Kirby, co-director of the Centre for International Studies presents a copy of his book 'Taming the Tiger: Social Exclusion in a Globalised Ireland' to President Oscar Arias of Costa Rica

Dr Peadar Kirby, co-director of the Centre for International Studies, presented a copy of his forthcoming book Taming the Tiger: Social Exclusion in a Globalised Ireland (Tasc and New Island Books), co-edited with David Jacobson of the DCU Business School and Deiric Ó Broin of Nordubco, to President Oscar Arias of Costa Rica in San José.

Dr Kirby was a keynote speaker at a conference on ‘Good Governance: Tasks still Outstanding’ organised by the Arias Foundation where he spoke on the lessons of the Irish model of development for Costa Rica. The Arias Foundation for Peace and Human Progress was established by President Arias after he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1987 and the Centre for International Studies in DCU recently signed a collaboration agreement with the Foundation.
